Our Bellroy Review: Everything You Need & Nothing You Don’t

Our Bellroy Review

The first time I discovered Bellroy travel wallets, I knew I had found my match. Travel wallets I’d had were always too big and bulky, and not always that pretty. I finally found a ‘pretty’ travel wallet, but it was just so big, I stopped using it. Bellroy appealed to me immediately, because I had never seen anything so minimalistic, yet still with great quality and design. And you know how we love packing light :)

So you could say we were more than a little bit excited to receive our first Bellroy travel wallets recently! I got the passport sleeve and Chris got the travel wallet. Here’s our Bellroy review…

Our Bellroy Review + Unboxing: Travel Wallet + Passport Sleeve

Bellroy Review: Mandy’s Passport Sleeve

Bellroy Passport Sleeve

The more I travel, the more I realise ‘less is more’. You don’t need a lot of things, just good quality things you love and that make life easier.

I instantly fell in love with my Bellroy Passport Sleeve. So slim, so pretty, so easy to use and it holds everything I need, and nothing I don’t. OK, so Chris holds a few documents in his Bellroy that we both need, but I could probably have them in mine if it came to it.

So here’s what I fit in my Bellroy…

4 x cards

Boarding pass

Doctors letter stating medications I’m travelling with

Passport

…and it comes with a micro pen perfect to fill out all those travel documents!

So it’s basically everything I need when at the airport. I first tried it out coming from Bali to Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap, and my passport was always on hand and easy to get in and out. And it took up next to no room in my handbag… perfect!

Bellroy Review: Chris’s Travel Wallet

Bellroy Travel Wallet

Here’s what Chris fit in his travel wallet

6 x cards

1 x passport

2 x doctors letters

2 x cambodia e-visa’s

1 x boarding pass

Mix of currency

1 x sim card

So a little bit more than mine, and he still has some room left. Chris instantly noticed the high quality of his Bellroy, comparing it to his old travel wallet with a half broken zip and half the space not even used. One of the biggest perks for Chris was that he can now slip his travel wallet into his pocket.

The Wrap Up

Bellroy Travel Wallets

Bellroy has a range of travel wallets (and other wallets and items for that matter) to suit different needs, but overall they focus on slim, quality design.

If you’re someone who wants to have a million things in their travel wallet – no judgement here :)… then the passport sleeve may not be for you.

But if you love travelling light, are sick of carrying too much stuff you don’t need, want to make life easier and won’t compromise on design and quality then you will fall in love with Bellroy travel wallets… just like we have :)

This year we’re taking our Bellroy travel wallets around the world with us, so we’ll keep you updated with how they go.

What’s your travel wallet situation?

We received our Bellroy travel wallets courtesy of Bellroy. Our opinion & reviews are 100% Mandy + Chris.

  1. Hi Michael,
Both options are great, passport sleeve will fit your passport, some documents and about 4 cards. If you need to keep more things then I’d get the travel wallet which is a bit bigger. Ours haven’t shown much wear and tear as yet, still in good condition ;) Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions…

  2. Hi,

I use a Slim Sleeve or my every day carry and a card pocket for the less used cards. Now I need something to travel with and came across your video on Youtube. Which one would you recommend for me the Passport Sleeve or the Travel wallet? How has the colours worn? Does it show scuffs or wear and tear much?

    Cheers,

    Michael

  3. That wallet is VERY cool.
After having my 10£ wallet fall apart, I’m glad I stumbled upon this blog :D

    1. Hi William, we absolutely love our Bellroy travel wallets, now that we have them we don’t know what we were doing before?! :)
