Where To Stay In Phnom Penh Cambodia: Our Phnom Penh Accommodation Guide

Where To Stay In Phnom Penh

I have to admit, when I first arrived in Phnom Penh, I had mixed feelings about it. We had just seen all the amazing temples at Angkor Archaeological Park, and Phnom Penh seemed like a busy, hot city. We stayed in Phnom Penh for 2 weeks, and I’m so happy we did because every day I discovered more and more that I loved about Phnom Penh. Discovering the history is both interesting and disturbing. Exploring the streets and discovering the food became some of my favourite things to do. Phnom Penh is certainly a place which leaves a mark, in the best possible way. If you’re planning a trip to Phnom Penh, you inevitably have to decide where to stay in Phnom Penh. So where to stay in Phnom Penh? Here are our recommendations and Phnom Penh Accommodation Guide…

Where To Stay In Phnom Penh?

There are a few different areas to stay in Phnom Penh, however, you can easily reach most things by Tuk-Tuk too. The main areas are Duan Penh and Chamkar Mon.

Duan Penh is the area that contains the most sights and the riverfront area with restaurants and bars. It attracts a lot of tourists and can be quite busy, but is walking distance to a lot of attractions. Street 240, in particular, has some great cafes.

Riverside Phnom Penh

Chamkar Mon may be a little further to most sights, but has a slightly more local feel about it. It’s home to some great places to eat in Phnom Penh and Bassac Lane (a lane of small bars).

Russian Market Phnom Penh

Keep in mind that both of these districts are fairly large and neighbour each other. With that in mind, I’ll highlight on the Phnom Penh hotel map the area that I prefer. See our Phnom Penh accommodation guide below for our picks for the best hotels in Phnom Penh.

Booking Accommodation In Phnom Penh

When booking accommodation in Phnom Penh, there are two main websites that I use.

Booking.com

Booking.com has some of the best prices and a large number of accommodation options available. We love using it for our travels and there are excellent options for Phnom Penh hotel bookings.

Airbnb

I love seeing what’s available from Airbnb, from getting to stay with a local host or having your own place to yourself, there’s something for everyone.
