Spending The Day In Palm Beach Sydney
It’s the start of Spring here in Australia, the days are warming up, the sun’s out, so we thought we would make our way to Palm Beach Sydney.
Palm Beach is a beautiful area about 1 hour north of Sydney CBD. It has a Bay on one side, and a beach on the other. Beautiful homes, boutique shops and wonderful views.
If you’re in Sydney for a week, spending the day at Palm Beach will give you a look at another side to Sydney.
Things To Do
Here’s how Chris and I spent the day in Palm Beach Sydney…
Lunch at Palm Beach Fish and Chips (we got them takeaway and took them across the road to the bay to eat). It’s a little more expensive than your regular fish and chip shop, but it’s delicious and probably one of the most cost-effective meals in Palm Beach.
We then went and parked in Governor Phillip Park and walked up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse on the headland. It’s about 20 minutes each way, with two different paths you can take. One way is a paved sloping path, the other is stairs, called the smugglers track. We went the smugglers track which was great, but perhaps go the other way if you want a more leisurely stroll.
The view from the top was absolutely stunning and well worth the walk up.
To finish up our day, we stopped in at The Boathouse (they also have a cafe in Balmoral), which is pretty close by in Governor Phillip Park, for a coffee (and in my case, a chai latte!).
Some Other Things To Do:
- Go to Palm Beach (the beach side), and go for a swim
- Go Kayaking
- Catch a ferry to the Basin and have a barbecue or a picnic
