The perfect spot to try a local speciality, the cevapi. Cevapi is made out of grilled minced meat with onions and a roasted capsicum sauce (ajvar) served in a flatbread. It’s quite delicious and a simple casual meal. Be prepared this small shop can get quite busy. Kantun Paulina is the best cheap food in Split Croatia.

Step By Step Health Food Bar
If there’s one thing I love when it comes to drinks it’s masala chai, hot or iced. Spotting this on the menu, we had to try Step by Step. We only had a coffee and iced chai but this restaurant also has some gluten-free and healthy food options.

Markets In Split
Split Green Market
Split Green Market is a large market selling mostly fresh fruit and vegetables, however also has other stalls selling food products, souvenirs, plants etc. We loved coming here and buying fresh produce to cook at home. But even if you don’t have a kitchen it’s such an amazing experience. Come and have a walk through, see the old scale system that they still use to weigh and price the food. Perhaps buy some of the delicious fruit for a snack or picnic. I absolutely fell in love with the fresh figs!
