Where To Stay In Rovinj?
Our first thought when deciding what area to stay in Rovinj was to stay in Rovinj Old Town. But Rovinj Old Town is fairly small and the outskirts also have so much to offer, from Rovinj Marina to Golden Cape.
We would recommend staying in Rovinj Old Town if you want to walk outside your door and have everything right there, the architecture, cobblestone streets, restaurants. The main accommodation options here are apartments and boutique hotels. But also keep in mind that the Old Town is also the busiest part of Rovinj and a lot of the streets can’t be accessed by car, so you may have to walk with your luggage. Having said that, it’s not very big so you probably won’t have to walk too far.
But staying anywhere within a 10 – 15-minute walk from Rovinj Old Town is also a great area to stay, and in some ways a better choice. If you are after a larger hotel then there are some great ones near Rovinj Marina and Golden Cape. Just keep in mind if you choose hotels near Golden Cape, it may be more like a 15 – 20-minute walk, which is still great, but just to be aware. If you want to avoid some of the crowds, then staying in a B&B or apartment within 15 minutes walk of the Old Town is perfect and gives a more local feeling. It may be obvious, but if you want to find out how long the walk is from certain hotels, just pop it into google maps and pick another point in Rovinj Old Town (Trg Maršala Tita is the main square) and get the walking time.

How Long To Stay In Rovinj?
Rovinj may be small but it’s the perfect place to relax, jump in the water, go for walks around Golden Cape, explore the streets of the Old Town and it also works as a great base for exploring the rest of Istria. So we would recommend spending 2 – 3 nights in Rovinj if you are only exploring Rovinj, and if you want to explore more of Istria or have a more relaxing time in Rovinj, perhaps consider 5 nights to one week in Rovinj.
