We absolutely loved our time in Hvar, a beautiful Croatian Island that should definitely be part of your Croatia Itinerary. Eating in Hvar is full of different experiences, from eating in a narrow little street to having ice cream along the Riva, to having seafood right by the beach. So where to eat in Hvar? Here are our favourite restaurants and food experiences.
Fig Cafe Bar
Fig Cafe Bar is healthy and delicious and you will be tempted to come back here for every meal. After you walk down a few small streets you will find a small restaurant with a few tables and chairs out the front.
I loved the food here! I had a grilled peach, cheese and rocket salad and it was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. I also had some of Chris’s Mexican pulled pork with sour cream and flatbread which was equally delicious. This is definitely one I can’t wait to return to. It’s one of the best places to eat in Hvar for a fresh, healthy and delicious meal. They are also a great place to come for breakfast in Hvar.
Address: Ivana Frane Biundovica 3, Hvar Town
Opening Hours: Every day from 10 AM to 10 PM
Dalmatino
I’m always dubious of restaurants that are number one on Tripadvisor, but this restaurant came so well reviewed everywhere that we had to try it. Dalmatino is genuinely deserving of all the praise. Here we sat outside in the laneway and you could still enjoy the energy of Hvar Old Town.
It’s a great place to try some local dishes. I had the black gnocchi with shrimp and truffle and it was so delicious, something you should definitely order if you go. Chris had the tuna which was also so good. The service here was so friendly and relaxed. This is my pick for the best restaurant in Hvar for dinner (also a great option for lunch) with excellent food and great service.
Address: Sveti Marak 1, Hvar
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM
Zori
Being so close to the beautiful ocean you start to crave seafood. Zori is actually on Sveti Klement, one of the Pakleni Islands, about a 20-minute boat ride from Hvar Island in the Adriatic Sea. Visiting the Pakleni Islands was one of my favourite things to do in Hvar, with the most beautiful beaches and nature, eating at Zori definitely topped it off.
Zori is located in the Palmizana area of Sveti Klement. I’m not sure you could get a better location to eat a delicious seafood meal than right on the beach with nothing but blue water in front of you. Zori has some of the best views of the beautiful Palmižana beach and the nature of the island.
The restaurant looks fancy, but as soon as you’re seated you feel at ease as the service is so friendly. Although I enjoy some seafood, I’m in no way a seafood fanatic, but this meal was one of my favourites of the year.
We had some incredible fish dishes at Zori. I had tuna with sesame crust and rice and Chris had a sea bass fillet with martini sauce and potatoes. We went for lunch so we could see the view and enjoy the islands and beach.
Zori is my pick for where to eat in Hvar for seafood and it’s also a great option for a special occasion. Because of its beautiful location on the beach, it’s definitely one of the best places to have lunch in Hvar.

Icy Bar Hvar
Located along the Hvar Riva right near all the gigantic yachts and the beautiful ocean, is there a more perfect place to take an ice cream break? And it’s not all about the location, the ice cream is so so delicious. We tried the peanut and toffee ice cream and peach sorbet, all amazing.
Address: Kroz Burak 39, Hvar
Opening Hours: Every day from 5 PM to 11 PM
Central Park Club
Central Park club is a restaurant and live music venue but we just went here to try some Croatian wine. The local wines are incredible, ones to try include the red wine Plavac Mali and the white wines Prč, Maraština, Bogdanuša and Pošip. It was such a lovely atmosphere, sitting on a cushion on the steps whilst music played below.
Address: Bankete bb, Hvar
Opening Hours: Every day from 7 AM to 2 AM
Nonica
Feeling like dessert? Nonica is a small bakery where you can get your cake fix. They also have a small seating area out the front but it can get busy.
Nonica

Mlinar Bakery
Mlinar is a chain bakery in Croatia but perfect for those times you just don’t feel like a big meal or going to a restaurant. Come here for a bakery snack, a slice of pizza or some Burek.

When Are Hvar Restaurants Open Throughout The Year?
If you happen to be visiting Hvar in the off-season, keep in mind that most of these restaurants are open in the summer months (high season) and perhaps the shoulder seasons. Most restaurants are open from early June until late September. Some Hvar restaurants may be open for a longer season from early April until late October, but definitely not as many.
